As we walk down the road of life be kind to one another, life is already hard enough as it is.  Everyone has an opinion and a way of doing things that they think is right and they are just as passionate about their choice as you are about yours.  We can choose to argue and disagree but it doesn't mean there has to be hate involved.  Some people like to take it to the extreme as if to say if you don't act, look or react like me then surely I can't be associated with you because God forbid you disagree with me.  I'm quite sure that I don't have it all right, but I do know that I have to be true to myself in the end if I am ever to find my peace and happiness.  I can't force myself into a cookie cutter mold to be your friend, because truly to be called my friend you will take me for who I am and where I am currently at in my walk of life.  I'm a thinker and a doer which means I'm mostly quiet but I have BIG dreams and a passion to do good in/for this world.  Being true to yourself doesn't mean you don't care about others, it just means you are the only one that has to live with yourself at the end of the day.  Make good choices!  Be good to others but also be good to yourself!  You deserve it!  All the haters and the scoffers will someday not even matter.  If you do it right, you won't even remember who they are and you may even feel sorry for them if you do.

Have you ever wondered what life would be like if you could just take that leap of faith?  To be able to have the guts to step outside your comfort zone whether you win or lose.  Why is it so difficult to take that first step?  Surely, success rides in on the coat tail of failure, but who wants to fail!  I think that has been my biggest downfall my entire life.  Playing it safe.  I've stayed for the most part inside my comfort zone, or my life bubble as I sometimes call it.  Most of this relates to business ventures as many opportunities have come my way and I always take the passive route.  I don't want to fail.  I don't want to put my heart and soul into something and then watch it flounder and die.  For the most part I don't want to invest my hard earned money into something and then lose it.  That's a really tough one for so many people.  When you spend your life wanting to be financially secure but too scared to do anything about it.  Thomas A. Edison was known for failure.  His famous quote;  “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work"  has inspired so many.  You should never give up because you just might be that close to something really good.  It might not even be what you had originally planned but it also might be something so much better.

How many times do we let what could be an amazing adventure slip away.  I don't want to let it go anymore.  I have dreamed about huge adventures all my life, and you know what,  I'm tired of just dreaming about it.  I want my dreams to now become my reality.  I want to truly LIVE life, to breathe it all in, good or bad and become a better person because of it.  I want more.  I don't believe that it is ever too late, or that dreams and success have specific timelines and if you missed it in your youth, you can never get them back.  I honestly think that success just needs to be a frame of mind.  That no matter what failures come your way you look at it as part of your road to success and that you enjoy it.  That you take it all in and just live life to it's fullest because, WHY NOT?!  What do you have to lose?!  If you are still holding on to dreams for someday, STOP, make them a part of your now!  Let's kick failure so hard in the rear that it pushes you forward into success!  Come on, let's do it!

When you look back on your life can you say you have lived life to it's fullest potential?  I am going to guess that most of us are going to go with a negative answer on that one.  I am sure in the beginning most of us had what we considered to be a good plan and then along the way as we got pushed down we decided that maybe our plan was just a little too audacious.  So, as life goes, we started thinking less of ourselves and our potential dreams.  We made our goals a little smaller and maybe less significant.  We decided that maybe living life to our fullest potential was just not as possible as we had originally thought. 

I know that I was at a point in time in my life where I thought I was living to my fullest potential a few years ago.  I was in great shape and had a good job.  I had a beautiful family with a big house and I thought all was just about perfect.  Until, that awesome job slowly led to a layoff and then I found myself looking for work for a couple of years.   I had been in my career for about 15 years.  I had interviews every day for about 6 months.  Then, over time, they stopped calling.  I started to think something was wrong with me.  How could I possibly deserve this.  I had worked hard my entire life to get to this point.  I slowly started to lose confidence and self-esteem.  Over time, I think I made others think less of me because in truth I had started to think less of myself.

But you know what, that time allowed me to take a long hard look at my life.  I finally realized my dream job cost me 12-16 hours of my life a day and I realized I missed so much of my kids lives because of it.  I put so much faith in things and not hearts and that is time that I will never be able to get back.  In the end if I had to evaluate what it cost me, it really wasn't worth it. 

My goal over the last few years has become about trying to live a simpler life.  I am trying really hard to spend time with those precious hearts instead of money.  Trying to evaluate what things are worth my time and what items in my life need to be thrown out.  I am finally realizing that I haven't even begun to tap into my fullest God given potential because I was so focused on what I thought I wanted or needed. 

My biggest goals now have to do with my legacy and what I leave behind for my family.  I want to teach them that life throws you curve balls and during that time you are going to figure out what you are really made of.  You are going to have to pick yourself up and dust yourself off and get back in the fight.  Some lessens are just a lot harder to learn than others. 

What things do you need to let go of to live to your fullest potential?  Are you hanging onto something from the past that is detrimental to your future?  I think you should let it go and start building new dreams.  Let's build them together!  Life is full of so much potential.  Let's tap it!
